The Bennisons

Emma Bennison studied classical voice at the University of Queensland, while Vaughn Bennison studied Contemporary Music at Southern Cross University. The two met at a music camp, and formed the duo with Vaughn on keyboard and vocal harmonies and Emma on lead vocals. Emma also writes many original compositions for the duo, and one of her songs features on a CD recorded by Allan's Music, "Slice of the Audio Pizza 2". Many more of Emma's songs are on The Bennisons debut CD "Ride of Our Lives".

The Bennisons perform a broad range of musical styles including easy listening, ballads, country, jazz, rock, classical, wedding and gospel.

The duo is also suitable for performing general background entertainment in restaurants, bistros, piano bars and clubs.

The Bennisons have performed in numerous settings throughout Australia, New Zealand and Asia. Some of the highlights have been:

Performing at the opening of the Wataboshi International Music Festival, Brisbane Powerhouse 2003.
Appearing at an Arts Queensland cocktail party to welcome a Japanese guest, Parliament House 2002;
representing Australia in Taiwan at the Wataboshi Music Festival 2001;
entertaining students at the University of Queensland 2001;
featuring at a conference dinner at the Radisson Hotel, gold coast 2001;
serenading shoppers in the Queen Street Mall, Brisbane 2000/2001;
performing at the Lismore Folk and Byron Bay Blues Festivals 1996-1998;
touring to pubs, clubs and RSLs in New Zealand and Australia 1996-.
