Sarah has been involved in the performing arts from the age of 5, playing the recorder and performing in school plays before graduating from a Music degree in 2004 and beginning her career as a stage manager in the UK.
From her stage management career, Sarah also branched out into the technical areas of theatre and film-making, and has worked in a number of roles:
Theatre / live events: lighting designer, board programmer, lx op, followspot operator, sound operator, sound designer, stage manager, production manager, set carpenter, set designer, AV operator.
Film / TV: 1st AD, production assistant, gaffer, continuity, script supervisor, production designer, production manager, camera operator, boom operator, sound designer, editor.
Sarah’ stage management and technical work has taken her around the world, with credits on the Edinburgh, Dublin, Melbourne, Brisbane and New York Fringe festivals as well as the Katherine Flying Fox Festival, Alice Desert Festival, Blues on Broadbeach and several UK music festivals, as well as several tours. She has also worked on pantomimes around the UK, and on a variety of theatre productions
Lighting designs include ‘The Six Wives of Timothy Leary’ (Etcetera Theatre / Edinburgh Fringe / Riverside Studios), ‘The Beheading’ ‘The Turner Plays’, ‘Tahiti Spectacular’ at TelstraClear Arena in Manukau and a number of student productions whilst working as in-house technician in a sixth form college (2008-2009)
Sarah is also a writer, producer and director who runs her own production company ‘Spangled Aura Productions’. In 2013 the company will be presenting a season of 10 of Sarah’s original productions. This includes children’s theatre, roving performances, comedy and straight drama.
