Latin Vibe - David Kemp

Latin Vibe Latin Vibe are a Latin Jazz group primarily playing Afro-Cuban inspired arrangements of classic jazz standards by Australian vibist Dave Kemp. The music is a highly inventive mix of well crafted composition and jazz improvisation of the highest level. Latin Vibe have appeared at many festivals and venues including the Brisbane Festival Spiegeltent and the Valley Jazz Festival. The group is available as a trio (vibes, bass and percussion) through to a bigger band with horn section.       David Kemp David Kemp is one of Australia's foremost keyboard percussionists having studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston USA and has performed with Dianna Krall, James Morrison and David Campbell among many others. He is currently lecturing at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and the Queensland University of Technology in jazz vibraphone, percussion and pedagogy. He is available as a jazz soloist or can provide a small band as required for events and functions. He is also a renowned solo marimba performer under the name 'Marimba Solitario' having appeared at successive Queensland Multicultural Festivals and the Woodford Folk Festival performing authentic folk music of Mexico, contemporary Japanese works and various classical transcriptions.
