Caitlin McMorrow
Caitlin enjoys music and has devoted most of her 17 years of life to its pursuit. She sings, as well as playing piano, violin, guitar and flute. She has been dancing since she was five years old and has taken examinations in tap, ballet, and jazz ballet to gold medal level. Caitlin took part in many of the school musicals, which involved combined High School and Primary School children. One of these was Oliver where in addition to being one of Fagan’s gang and one of the workhouse children, she also had the part of the rose seller. She also performed The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe where Caitlin played one of the main roles as Lucy Pevensie, the youngest of the four children.
Caitlin is also interested in Speech and Drama and has won several eisteddfods for humourous verse and public speaking including the Rostrum Voice of Youth competition.
She enjoys singing and has been a member of the Australian Youth Choir as well as many school musical groups. Caitlin performed a solo role in Ihos Opera’s production of The Divine Kiss for the Brisbane Festival in 1998 and toured to Hobart with the Opera in 1999. In 2000 Caitlin sang as part of a trio for the backing track and performed on screen for Access Arts in the production of their promotional video.
In 2001, Caitlin performed at the opening ceremony for the Junior Disabled Games and at the awards presentation during Disability Access Week. In 2002, Caitlin performed a solo segment at the Brisbane City Council’s Lunchtime Classical Concert in the Main Auditorium at the Brisbane City Hall. She continues to study classical voice with Mark Jowett, a teacher at the University of Queensland.
Caitlin in 2003 began study at QUT where she is studying law and international business.
